Comakdag village, founded by the On Ok clan of Oguz Turks and dating back to 500 years ago, is located between the Izmir-Milas highway in Turkey, at the ridge of the Besparmak Mountains with 300 houses.

A rare occasion to witness all by itself, old customs are still kept alive with passion in this old village. During the first of the four day wedding ceremonies the villagers pound wheat in a mortar. On the second day, the village women walk on the streets which they call “Bath Visiting” where they dance sadly to the music which is followed by the family of the groom welcoming the bride by placing a “tura”, a 35 gold piece head dress, on her head. The rest is followed by entertainment and long-hour dinners.
